About Me

Jessica Parisik is a DONA International trained labor and postpartum doula supporting women in Northern NJ. She also currently works at Integrative Obstetrics and Mindful Midwifery in Hackensack, Hoboken and Jersey City, NJ. She graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts at Mason Gross School of the Arts at Rutgers University.

“My passion for birth started when I became pregnant with my daughter. I did hours of research (forums and google spirals and apps, as any woman of today will!) to make the best decisions for my body and for my baby. I grew a fascination for pregnancy, childbirth and motherhood, and how even though our world may evolve, all women are bonded in this journey. I have had the honor of serving as a doula for many different types of births, and each time I am amazed by the power of a mother in labor and the beauty of birth. There is no substitute for having another supportive woman with you, someone who has been through labor herself and who can help take some fear and uncertainty away during this incredible moment."

Testimonials

"Looking for words to describe Jessica's help during my labor is hard because I attribute a great part of the wonderful experience I had to her. First of all, when I was told that my mother might not be in the labor room with me because Jessica and my husband would already count as 2 coaches, I was very anxious. However,  I knew that I wanted a completely natural birth,  without epidural and wanted a doula to help me with that. I got to the hospital at 12 and Jessica soon after. I was sitting in my bed relaxed, watching HGTV and as soon as she got there,  she got me up and moving. That's when the contractions started. She was there every second of the way,  massaging my back, my feet, my hips, recommended me to get in the shower twice, both times making me dilate more. She worked closely with my midwife and at the end, after I actually had time to think about my experience, I could say with all honesty that I felt like Jessica was part of my family. Her patience through such a horrible moment was beyond what I needed and expected. "
